About Me - Neil Best

This about me page is a work in progress, but then again so am I. For as long as I can remember, I've been interested in business. The people who are successful at it, how businesses work, and what makes a great one. I'm not sure what was behind that original interest, but it still remains today, and I relish the challenge of working out how it all fits together.

Successful business is about successful investment of capital (and Warren Buffet is the master of capital allocation), but it's also much, much more than that.

It's about developing the right strategy, finding, keeping and motivating the best people; fighting off competitors and gaining competitive advantage; developing exciting products, and earning the respect and loyalty of great customers; it's about a process of continual learning and continual development - two great ideals that anyone can aspire to, and I do.

My motivation for starting this website was to give you the benefit of my technical knowledge, but also combined with experience from practical application. All built up over the last 20 years (arrgh - am I really that old now?). I want and wanted to place as much of my business brain down onto the net, so that I could see it, use it and structure it in a sensible way and hopefully help at least a few people.

At the time of writing this, over 2,500 visitors have now received my free email course about jump starting your business. So I'm some way towards achieving my goal. That's great, but there are still a whole lot more people out there, and there's a lot more that I want to do.
