Make this Sample Cash Flow Statement Your Own
Here is a great sample cash flow statement you can use to generate your own statement(s). Using the Small Business Finance Tips template simply translate the format into your own favorite spreadsheet software, or click on cash flow statement to open a new web page with the statement showing If you already have a google account, then you can login and save a copy for yourself. You're then free to edit it to fit your requirements. If you don't have a google account, click on the File Menu Item, move the mouse to "download as..." then click on "Excel" to export to Microsoft Excel, where again you can edit and save the sample cash flow statement. Depending on your personal requirements, you can then tailor the cash statement to fit your own needs. 
Interpreting the Cash Flow StatementTime period, such as the months, the quarter and the half are summarised across the top of the table (e.g. Q1, Q2, H1 etc.) Down the rows items are first analysed and grouped by receipts, receipt type, receipts subtotal. Then, payment, and payment type and payments subtotal. These items are all detailed down the left hand column, and represent the most common form of receipts and payments experienced by the vast majority of businesses. Nearly all business create the same categories of payment and receipts depending on their nature. In the sample cash flow, the most commonly occuring items such as sales and salaries are included, as well as some of the less common items such as dividends. If your business has additional categories, or is simpler than the illustration, then feel free to add or remove data elements as you see fit.
